Acton Flood Solutions Hackathon Launch — Let’s Tackle Flooding Together!
Tuesday, August 19 | 4–6 PM | Gardner Field, West Acton
Calling all AB students (Grades 7–12) and local residents with a passion for problem-solving, environmental science, or sustainability! Here’s your chance to take part in a real-world challenge: finding creative, practical ways to reduce flooding in Acton.
This August event kicks off the Acton Flood Solutions Student Hackathon, organized by AB STEAM and the Integral Charitable Foundation, with support from the Town of Acton Sustainability and Conservation Offices, EnergizeActon.org, and our community partners.
What’s Happening on August 19
4:00 PM — Meet at Gardner Field in West Acton for FREE ice cream and a short introduction to the Hackathon.
5:00 PM — Join a guided tour of a local flood-prone area: the Heath Hen Meadow Trail, at the very back of Mount Hope Cemetery, 166 Central St., Acton.
Along the way, we’ll explore the big question:
How can we reduce flooding in Acton in ways that are economical, sustainable, and friendly to both people and the environment?
