A hackathon is a collaborative event, often time-limited, where students work together to solve specific problems by developing new solutions. Participants form teams to brainstorm, build, and present projects, transforming ideas into functional prototypes or innovative concepts within a set timeframe. The term "hack" in hackathon refers to creative problem solving. A hackathon combines "hack" and "marathon".
